Cisco Fails in Offering Core Router to China Telecom

   After PRISM scandal broke, Cisco and other U.S equipment vendors became the targets of public criticism.

We have gotten that China Telecom has just finished the first batch of IP equipment centralized procurement in 2013, which included high-end core routers, data center switches and plenty of mid/low-end IP products.

However, given that China Telecom has always been one of the regulars of Cisco in China, this year could be the hardest year ever to Cisco since its core routers have not got any shares in China Telecom’s purchase this time.
 
Information shows that now Cisco has superhigh shares in China’s overall backbone network market, and it occupies more than 70% shares of China Telecom’s 163 backbone network.
